Tools used in Electrical wiring system:
The following tools and accessories are used by an
electrician for wiring power and lighting circuits.
1.
Electrician's Knife is used for skinning
insulation from wires and cutting insulating material

Pliers are one of the most used tools in wiring.
Flat nose side cutting pliers are used for cutting, gripping or twisting wires.
Diagonal pliers are used for cutting wires in holders, switches etc. Round nose
pliers are used for loop terminating conductors. Adjustable pliers are useful
in conduit wiring for making up locknuts and bushings.

Screw
Drivers are the most important tools. These are available in different blade
sizes. 25 cm screw driver is in common use. Thin-blade smaller screw driver is
used for screwing small screws in switches, holders etc,

Hacksaw is used for cutting cables, conduits and
heavy gauge busbars.

Wooden saw is used for cutting casing, capping,
batten and wooden boards. Key hole saw is used for cutting small holes.
5.
Chisels are used for cutting wood (wood chisel)
and for cutting brick or concrete cold chisel.

Scratch Awl is used for impression on wood for
screws
7.
Hammers
used are generally of two types, e.g. ball-peen hammer and claw hammer.
9. Files are used for filing
contactings and blurrs
10. Rawl plug tool is used for
making holes for rawl plug or paste.
11. Hand Drill is used for
drilling holes in wooden blocks or boards.
12. Rachet Bit Brace is required
for drilling holes in beam and joists.
13. Twist Drills are used for
drilling holes into metals.
14. Centre Punch is required for
punching small holes into metals.
15. Auger Bits are used for boring
in wood.
16. Spanners are of various sizes.
These are required for tightening nuts.
17. Wiring Marking-out Aids, such
as foot rule, thread, blue etc.
18. Plumb Bob is used for checking
verticality.
19. Bench Vice is used for holding
conduit etc., while cutting and cutting threads.
20. Pipe Vice is used for holding
conduit for cutting threads or for bending.
21. Pipe Wrench is used for
holding conduit.
22. Conduit Pipe Cutter is used
for cutting conduits.
23. Conduit Bender is used for
bending conduits. There are various types of benders.
24. Taps are used for cutting
threads into holes in metal.
25. Reamer is used sometimes for
removing blurrs from metal. 26. Stock and Die are used for cutting threads over
the conduits.
27. Blow Lamp is used for
soldering and cable jointing purposes.
28. Soldering Iron is used for
soldering and tinning.
29. Neon Tester and Test Lamp are used for testing linline.
