1. Incident angle = Reflected angle of light.
2. 1/u +1/v =1/ f it is spherical mirror formula.
3. f = R/2
4. Linear magnification :- m= I/O = - ( v/u)
5. m= f /( f-u) = (f-v)/f
6. Sign conventions:-
Distance measured towards the ray of light is possitive whereas opposite to ray of light is negative.
For concave mirror,
u= distance of object from mirror pole is negative
v= distance of image from mirror may be possitive or negetive.
Possitive when ,
Object is placed between focus to pole.
Negative when,
Object is placed infinity to focus.
f= Focus is negetive.
✓✓Image may be virtula, erect, magnified when object is in focus and pole
Image is real and inverted as point size when object is in infinity
✓✓Image is real, inverted and diminished when object is between beyond centre of curvature to centre of curvature .
✓✓Image is real, inverted and equal to object when object lies at centre of curvature .
✓✓Image is real, inverted and enlarged when object is between centre of curvature to focus.
For convex mirror
u= object distance is negetive
v= image distance is possitive
f= distance of focus is possitive
Image is virtual,erect,and diminished.
7. Magnification m
m is possitive for convex spherical mirror
And negetive for concave spherical mirror.
